Pragmatic optimism

Amid the uncertainty of the global economic recession, our interviews with people reveal that many Singaporeans are responding with an attitude of “pragmatic optimism.”

What exactly is pragmatic optimism? It’s the belief that while times are extraordinarily difficult, one should remain optimistic about life because being negative is counterproductive. Unlike blind optimism, this is optimism tempered with prudence.

If optimism continues to have great value, shouldn’t brands be cultivating a more positive perspective in these negative times?

  • IM A PRAGMATIC OPTIMIST. I STAY UP IN CRISIS AND ITS REALY GIVING GOOD RESULTS FOR ME AND FOR THE PEOPLE AROUND ME. I ALWAYS KEEP MY OPTIMISM IN BUSINESS SPECIALLY AS IT KEEPS THE WHELS ROLLING ON. AND IT CAN SPREAD EASELY TO OTHER PEOPLE IN THE CHAIN DESPITE THE FACT THAT PEOPLE FIND MORE EASY TO BE NEGATIVE RATHER THAN POSITIVE,WE ARE STILL THERE AND THATS WHAT MAKES THE PLANET TURNS
